As the sun begins to set behind the giant mountains, the picturesque southern coastal town of S’Arenal transforms into a beauty of glistening sun rays on the soothing Mediterranean seas, with the sound of the waves capturing an allure of peacefulness and happiness.
Behind this beautiful backdrop is the excited voices of children playing soccer against the golden rays, the silhouettes of beachgoers capturing their smiles against the scenic views, the sun rays settling on relaxed people sunbathing, and adults and children peacefully mixing in with the gentle sea waves before the gorgeous sun disappears behind the mountains.
As I walk alongside this beauty, I remind myself again and again, how lucky I feel to experience the gorgeous island of Mallorca.
I embraced every sun ray engulfed in the beauty of the gorgeous Mediterranean seas, trekked down nature’s path, danced my heart out in the middle of the gently rolling Mediterranean seas, and marveled at the amazing cove formations at the different calas on the island.
One thing I love about the island is the changing scenery – bustling cities, enchanting villages, water oasis, desert lands, olive groves, valleys, mountains, calas, and so much more.
I didn’t create an itinerary for my time in Mallorca. I simply let the days unfold, and it was the best decision.
I am a simple girl at heart. Give me a beautiful sunset, a barefoot walk on the beach, great food, an upbeat sound of music, nature’s paths through the woods, and I am all set to have a happy time.
On my first day in Mallorca, after I found my way to BedNDesk (an exceptional coliving experience) by bus from the airport and settled in, I wandered the neighborhood, walked to the beach and experienced breathtaking sunset amid the bustling town of S’Arenal.
I experienced Mallorca exploring the city of Palma, riding an old wooden train, dancing my heart out on the Mediterranean Sea, sampling delicious food, trekking up the Tramuntana mountain, and simply catching sunsets as they made golden colors in the sky.
I joined a free walking tour of Palma on a beautiful sunny morning. We learned about the history of Palma, ventured up the stairs of the castle at sea, meandered through walkways and stairs to experience the beauty of Palma.
I used Guruwalk to find this tour. I’ve used GuruWalk in different cities, and I must say, it’s one of my favorite apps for finding free walking tours around the world.
On a beautiful morning, I hopped on a bus from S’Arenal to Palma, where after a few lost turns, I finally found myself at the train station.
It was an exhilarating ride with views of the beautiful mountains, lemon groves, through tunnels, that made you feel like you were in a movie.
The town of Soller is absolutely beautiful. Wander around the town, grab a seat and taste a delicious meal. When you are done, enjoy a breezy tram ride to Soller port and take it all in.
A delicious vegan meal at AHIMSA in Palma was a start to my great day. I followed this up with an awesome four hour afternoon boat party taking in breathtaking views of the Mediterranean sea. The great music, fun dancing, happy chatter, delicious food, fun splashes from people, and the soothing breeze made for a perfect afternoon.
Anytime I visit a new place, I simply wander. I enjoyed strolling along the ocean, laying on the sand, and gazing at the magnificent coastline and sunsets.
When you find yourself in Mallorca, don’t miss hoping to as many Calas as possible. The Calas are coves on the coastline of Mallorca. They have stunning beaches with sparkling turquoise water and magnificent cliff formations.
I was excited when one of my housemates ‘E’ at BedNDesk invited me along on a market day in Santanyi and spending time at Cala S’Amarador and Cala Llombards.
Santanyi market day was filled with over hundred vendors, chilled smoothies, bread topped with tomatoes and sardine, delicious ensaimada, a little shopping and simply a great market day.
The calas have spectacular views. We laid on the sand, dipped in the ocean, enjoyed slushi, walked along magnificent cave formations, and experienced pure happiness.
The day ended with a wonderful sushi night and gelato with amazing people.
The town of Deià in the northern part of Mallorca, is nestled in the magnificent Tramuntana mountains. A hike up the mountains and a walk through the beautiful Valdemossa town made for one fun day.
Read more about my adventure here.
Mallorca is magnificent, and I enjoyed every bit of my week on the island.
I hope you always choose open roads to a new adventure.

It's 5:55am, the world is silent. I am not snoozing my alarm this time. I don't know what lies ahead
