Adventure in the Heart of Tramuntana Mountains: A Hiker’s Dream
My love for nature led me to the gorgeous island of Mallorca, an island that lies in the gently rolling Mediterranean sea. I was fortunate to experience its beauty – laying on the beautiful sand, playing in the crisp and clear water, wandering around beautiful towns, and simply admiring what nature has to offer.
Hiking the Cala Deià trail was one of the highlights of my trip. The town of Deià in the northern part of Mallorca, is nestled in the magnificent Tramuntana mountains. As you drive up the rolling mountains, the amazing views will not cease to amaze you. From water views, olive groves, magnificent homes, and picturesque towns, this experience is one I will always hold close to my heart.
On a beautiful Sunday morning, my buddy ‘S’ and I experienced breathtaking views on top the Tramuntana mountains. As we hiked up this gorgeous mountain, we walked through rocky terrain, maneuvered through some rocks, wandered around beautiful olive groves, hiked down inclines, and stopped to admire the gorgeous Tramuntana mountains.
A Friendly Tip: This is not a long hike, so take your time and take in every moment. Don’t forget to always hike with a friend or hiking group
We made sure to stop a few times to admire the amazing water views, the sun reflecting its beautiful rays along different parts of the mountain and the breathtaking landscape all around us.
After the hike, ‘S’ took a dip in Cala Deià, as I scrambled the rocks to admire more breathtaking views at different points.
The day kept getting better and better. After sometime in Deià, we drove down the mountain about 20 minutes to the town of Valldemossa. This is one of my most favorite towns on the island of Mallorca. Don’t miss it!
We grabbed a cold coffee and slowly walked through the town, taking in all the beautiful views.
It was a perfect day!
Do not miss this hike if you are in Mallorca.
This hike is listed as moderate on AllTrails. The beginning is quite steep but doable. Wear comfortable shoes and you will be good to go. The view, as you go higher and higher is simply amazing.
After your hike, I recommend a dip in Cala Deià to cool off and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can also grab lunch at any of the cafes at Cala Deià.
The town of Deià is gorgeous. Grab a drink and wander around.
